Revival VS Revivalism: The TRUTH About Revival

Is your pursuit of revival drawing you closer to God or burning you out? Let's examine the critical difference between authentic spiritual awakening versus chasing manufactured revivalism.

Throughout history, genuine moves of God have transformed communities through prayer and hunger for His presence. But for every authentic revival, countless Christians have burned out chasing emotional experiences and worldwide impact at any cost. We’ll examine how true revival, like waves in the ocean, can’t be manufactured - but we can position ourselves to catch that next wave of what God is doing.

Join us as we explore the biblical path to revival without falling into the trap of revivalism. Whether you’re longing for deeper encounters with God, concerned about modern revival movements, or simply trying to discern what’s authentic, this conversation will help you navigate the difference between striving and surrender in pursuit of God’s presence.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Have a theology question? Drop it here. While we can't guarantee we'll tackle every question, we'll dive into one or two each week. So, fire away and let's explore together!

Question from Melissa in Virginia: In a few weeks, the miracle of Holy Fire will occur in Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem's Old City. How do we think about this? Is it real? And if so, should we all be Orthodox Christians?

Answer: Great question, Melissa! We used your question to create one of our Remnant mini shows. Watch here!

___________

Question from Mandy in Australia: Hi guys, I would really appreciate your help with this question.. When casting out a demon is it ever necessary to speak to the demon? Is going beyond asking their name, going beyond scripture? Satan is the father of lies so why would his demons not lie about their name, how many demons are their etc?

Answer: In general, we would not recommend conversing with a demon or asking its name for that exact reason. For more information on demonology and deliverance ministry, we have a playlist with several episodes available. Watch playlist.

RR DOES NOT CALL OUT WOLVES: Setting the Record Straight

In this deeply transparent and candid episode of Remnant Radio, Joshua Lewis, Michael Rowntree, and Michael Miller respond to critiques from Chris Rosebrough, Steven Kozar, and Justin Peters. The conversation covers a wide range of topics, including the importance of discernment in the charismatic movement, addressing past platforming decisions, and offering public apologies for former guests such as Mike Bickle, Todd White, and David Diga Hernandez. The hosts openly examine their own failures in exercising discernment, explain the process behind certain ministry decisions, and reflect on how they’re seeking to grow in theological integrity and accountability.

The team also explores broader issues in charismatic Christianity, such as abuse, false prophecy, doctrinal confusion, and celebrity culture within church leadership. They discuss how the Lord may be bringing judgment beginning with His house, and the call for charismatic leaders to get low in humility and repentance. While disagreement with cessationist critics remains, the episode seeks common ground where possible and issues a heartfelt call for reform in the charismatic world—without abandoning the pursuit of spiritual gifts.
