CERN is celebrating its 70th anniversary on September 29. With that milestone approaching, we wanted to learn more about the organization behind the world’s largest particle accelerator—the Large Hadron Collider. We'll discuss what CERN is and what their scientific pursuits mean. We'll also investigate some of the spiritual theories floating the Internet. With a unique combination of physics expertise and spiritual insight, Putty will help us better understand this organization and the science behind the the Large Hadron Collider.

Ben from Washington: How can one dive into a deeper study of communion? I get so fired up about it hearing the Remnant guys talk about how it is connecting with God and there is a sense of mystery about it, but I feel like I don't know much about communion. I want to appreciate it more. The Bible talks about it a few times but if I'm looking to flesh out my theology and deepen my understanding, what resources would you recommend?

Do the Gospels Contradict Each Other?

We sit down with New Testament scholar Dr. Michael Licona to discuss his book Jesus, Contradicted: Why the Gospels Tell the Same Story Differently. Dr. Licona tackles one of the most common objections to the reliability of the Gospels: their apparent discrepancies. Instead of forcing strained harmonizations, Licona explains how the Gospels fit within the genre of ancient biography, allowing for narrative flexibility. He compares the Gospel accounts with the works of Plutarch and other ancient sources, showing how common literary techniques of the time account for differences in reporting. Cessationism Rewritten: The Lost History of the Reformation

Were the Cessationists of the Protestant Reformation the same as those today? Ryan Denton, a Presbyterian minister and church planter, suggests that modern cessationism differs significantly from the cessationism of the Protestant Reformation. Denton argues, through historical examination, that many Protestant Reformers, particularly the Scottish Presbyterians, experienced supernatural power. Leaders such as George Wishart, John Knox, Alexander Peden, and Samuel Rutherford believed in gifts like prophecy, healing, and more. Tune in to discover how the Reformers were more open to the gifts of the Spirit than many in today's cessationist movement.
