Hearing God's Voice | God Conversations: Interview with Tania Harris - Part 2Join us for a second interview with Rev Dr. Tania Harris, the founder of God Conversations and author of several books. With a passion for understanding how God speaks and the impact it has on the church, Dr. Harris embarked on a profound journey. Her exploration delves into questions that have intrigued theologians and Christians for centuries: Does God still speak to us today? How does God speak? How do we hear God's voice? And what significance does it hold for the church? Drawing from her extensive research and experiences, she offers a comprehensive theology and pastoral strategy to help all sectors of the Church connect with the Spirit's voice. |

ASK YOUR QUESTIONS:
Have a theology question? Drop it here. While we can't guarantee we'll tackle every question, we'll dive into a couple each week. So, fire away and let's explore together!
Question from Thomas in Fort Worth, Texas: We know that God’s word is inerrant in its delivery (2 Tim. 3v16; 2 Pet. 1v21; Ps. 19v7, etc.) but can we know whether or not man’s initial transcribing of God’s spoken word is inerrant?
Answer: In October 1978 the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy (ICBI) hosted several hundred Christians representing forty-one churches and thirty-eight Christian denominations to study, pray, and deliberate the inerrancy of Scripture, the doctrine that the Bible is free from error. They developed and signed The Chicago Statement on Biblical Inerrancy. You can read that document here.
Question from Patrick in Australia: Is the "baptism of the Holy Spirit" a post-conversion experience evidence by speaking in tongues. What does the Bible teach?
Answer: Check out this previous episode with both sides of the debate:
SHOWS LAST WEEK:
If you missed joining us for the Live Chat, you can still catch the episodes:
Examining Mysticism in Today’s CultureJoin us for our discussion with theologian Andrew Root on his book The Church in An Age of Secular Mysticism. In a world flooded with spiritualities promising personal transformation, Root sheds light on the differences between these mysticisms and authentic Christian transformation. We'll explore the dangers of following or adapting these reigning mysticisms and learn why the self has become so important yet so burdened with guilt--and how we should think about both. Root will present a better way--even a mysticism--centered on the theology of the cross that pastors and leaders can use to form their own imaginations and practices. Andrew Root (PhD, Princeton Theological Seminary) is the Olson Baalson Professor of Youth and Family Ministry at at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. |
Should Christians Practice Yoga? There's a rising trend of "Christian yoga" practiced by believers and even offered in churches. But can we truly divorce the spiritual from the physical? Are we inadvertently embracing pagan practices by participating in yoga? Or can we transform the practices into a form of worship to Christ? We'll delve into the spiritual implications of yoga and whether rebranding it to "Christian yoga" changes its essence. Tune in for an eye-opening conversation! |
REPLAY:
After our show on yoga last week, we received a lot of questions about demons. Here’s a previous episode that may be helpful:
