A Vision of Prophecy for The Future
How do we embrace the prophetic while maintaining biblical wisdom and discernment? Today we’re tackling the crucial balance between walking in the gifts of the Spirit and ensuring prophetic accountability in the church.
As believers who embrace the continuing work of the Holy Spirit, we’ll explore: • Biblical frameworks for testing prophecy • Practical guidelines for the local church • Wisdom for conference settings • Building integrity in the prophetic community • Learning from past mistakes • Creating healthy accountability structures
Whether you’re a church leader navigating prophetic ministry, someone who operates in the prophetic, or a believer seeking to understand this gift better, this conversation offers practical wisdom for increasing prophetic integrity while honoring the Holy Spirit’s work today.
Join us as we cast a vision for what healthy prophetic ministry can look like in the future, guided by 1 Thessalonians 5’s mandate to “test all things” while not despising prophecy.
Episode premieres on Wednesday, January 8 at 4:00 p.m. CST / UTC-6.
WSSM: INTRO TO SPIRITUAL GIFTS
🎓 Celebrating Our Fall 2024 Graduates!
We’re praising God for the 80 incredible believers who just completed their journey through our Word & Spirit School of Ministry: Intro to Spiritual Gifts! Over 13 transformative weeks, these students didn’t just learn about the gifts of the Spirit—they stepped out in faith to practice them.
Through dedicated small group leadership and hands-on experience, our graduates have discovered their unique spiritual gifts and are beginning to walk confidently in them. It’s been amazing to witness their growth as they’ve learned to hear God’s voice and minister in the power of the Holy Spirit while staying grounded in Scripture.
These graduates now are eligible for advanced training and are equipped to serve as Prayer Partners at upcoming Remnant Conferences. We can’t wait to see how God continues to use them to build up the body of Christ!
“For as in one body we have many members…having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them” - Romans 12:4-6
Join us in celebrating this milestone! And if you’re feeling that nudge to grow in your understanding of the spiritual gifts, registration for our Spring 2025 semester opens next month. Stay tuned!

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Have a theology question? Drop it here. While we can't guarantee we'll tackle every question, we'll dive into one or two each week. So, fire away and let's explore together!
Question from Kelsey in Kansas: How and where can you find a good solid church?
Answer: Finding a healthy church requires wisdom, discernment, and patience. First, we’d recommend considering churches that are part of the Convergence Church Network. This list is still growing, so if you aren’t able to check out one of those, here are some guidelines to consider:
While no church is perfect this side of heaven, there are key markers that indicate a church’s spiritual health. Look for faithful biblical teaching where God’s Word is preached with authority and practical application. Though the church need not necessarily be liturgical, it should demonstrate proper administration of the sacraments, including biblical practice of baptism and regular celebration of communion, with clear teaching on their significance. A healthy church will maintain a balanced spiritual life, valuing both the Word and the Spirit without veering into either cessationism or hyper-charismaticism.
The community should be marked by genuine fellowship, active discipleship, and members who truly care for one another, often expressed through small groups and opportunities for deeper connection. Biblical leadership is crucial - look for qualified leaders who demonstrate humility and servant-heartedness, operating within a clear organizational structure and showing evidence of spiritual maturity. Be watchful for red flags such as man-centered teaching, an excessive focus on self-help advice over Scripture, lack of prayer, minimal emphasis on Scripture application, unaccountable leadership, or doctrinal compromise.
As you search, take practical steps: pray for God’s guidance, visit several churches, review their statements of faith, observe their fruit, and assess the health of their community. Remember that while you may not find an absolutely pure church, the goal is to find a true church where you can both grow spiritually and contribute to building up the body of Christ. Don’t be discouraged if the search takes time - consider where you can both receive spiritual nourishment and contribute your gifts to the body. When you find such a church, be willing to commit and help build it up, remembering that every church is on a journey of growing in purity and faithfulness to Christ.

BIBLICAL INERRANCY: What Does “Without Error” Really Mean? Interview with Dr. Richard Howe
Join us as we dive deep into biblical inerrancy with Dr. Richard G. Howe, Norman L. Geisler Chair of Christian Apologetics at Southern Evangelical Seminary and Past President of the International Society of Christian Apologetics.
Drawing from decades of experience defending the Christian faith on university campuses and international platforms, Dr. Howe provides a philosophically robust framework for understanding Scripture’s truthfulness.
From his correspondence theory of truth to the relationship between divine inspiration and inerrancy, we’ll explore how God’s nature necessarily implies an errorless Bible, examine the difference between legitimate literary devices and historical alterations, and wrestle with how to approach apparent discrepancies in the Gospels. As both a philosopher and theologian, Dr. Howe brings unique insights to this crucial doctrine that grounds our faith. Whether you’re wrestling with difficult passages or seeking a deeper understanding of biblical authority, this conversation offers crucial insights into how we read and trust God’s Word.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE: Lessons from Haiti - Interview with Dr. Matt Ayars
What happens when Western theology meets spiritual warfare on the mission field? We're sitting down with Dr. Matt Ayars, who spent years on the front lines of spiritual battle as President of Emmaus University in Haiti. Dr. Ayars brings a unique perspective as both a seasoned academic (current Lead Pastor of Wellspring Church in MS and former President of Wesley Biblical Seminary) and a missionary who has encountered spiritual warfare firsthand in a culture where voodoo and Christianity intersect.
We’ll explore: • Real experiences of spiritual warfare in Haiti • Biblical foundations from Genesis to Ephesians • Practical wisdom for spiritual battles • How Western Christians should understand spiritual warfare • The intersection of academic theology and spiritual reality
Whether you’re a missionary, pastor, or believer wanting to understand spiritual warfare better, this conversation bridges the gap between theological truth and practical experience. Join us for this powerful discussion with Dr. Ayars, host of Seminary Unboxed, as we unpack what spiritual warfare really looks like on the ground.
