SHOWS THIS WEEK:

Tune in to The Remnant Radio and join us in the Live Chat on Monday and Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. CDT / UTC-5.

Did Pope Francis Promote Universalism?

Recently, at an inter-religious youth conference, Pope Francis made a statement that has sparked significant debate: "All religions are path[way]s to reach God." He likened religions to different languages, each providing a unique way of approaching the same God. His comments have led to mixed reactions—some defending the Pope's intentions and others accusing him of promoting universalism.

In this episode, we’ll be joined by Pastor Mike Shreve, a former Catholic and evangelist to Catholics with his ministry ToCatholicsWithLove.org. Pastor Shreve argues that the Pope's statements reflect key issues within Catholic teaching today. Together, we’ll explore whether the Pope's words were mistranslated or if they represent a shift toward universalism, and more importantly, why universalism is not supported by Scripture. Don’t miss this in-depth analysis as we seek to uncover the truth behind these controversial remarks.

Tune in on Monday, September 23 at 4:00 p.m. CDT / UTC-5!

What Is the Power and Scope of Testimony?

Testimonies of how we’ve experienced God can be powerful tools for encouraging others and pointing them to Christ, but they must always remain subordinate to Scripture. So, how should we use our testimonies responsibly? In this episode, we'll explore the role of personal testimony in the Christian faith.

We'll examine the balance between sharing our personal experiences with God and ensuring they don’t become prescriptive or authoritative. Testimonies should inspire and build up others, but they should not be turned into practices or doctrines. We’ll discuss how to keep our testimonies humble, using them to edify rather than establish a "new normal" for the Christian life.

Join us as we better understand the biblical role of testimony and learn how to use our personal stories to encourage without replacing or overshadowing the truth of Scripture. Join us Wednesday, September 25 at 4:00 p.m. CDT / UTC - 5.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Have a theology question? Drop it here. While we can't guarantee we'll tackle every question, we'll dive into one or two each week. So, fire away and let's explore together!

Brandon from West Virginia: I’ve recently began following a pastor on social media who seems to label himself as a historical cessationist. He defines this cessationism as “no new doctrine or ethics or infallible revelation on the same level as scripture”. He also cites many of the sources you guys have on your past episodes, such as the Scots Worthies. I am just curious on your thoughts on this definition of cessationism and have you encountered it before?

Answer:

We recently interviewed Ryan Denton, a Presbyterian minister and church planter, who suggests that historical cessationism is not the same as the modern hyper-cessationism. It was a great conversation, and we agreed with many of his points. Here’s the episode: Cessationism Rewritten: The Lost History of the Reformation.

SHOWS LAST WEEK:

If you missed joining us for the Live Chat, you can still catch the episodes:

CERN and the Large Hadron Collider: Science or Supernatural?

CERN is celebrating its 70th anniversary on September 29. With that milestone approaching, we wanted to learn more about the organization behind the world’s largest particle accelerator—the Large Hadron Collider. We'll discuss what CERN is and what their scientific pursuits mean. We'll also investigate some of the spiritual theories floating the Internet. For example, is CERN built on the site of Apollo’s ancient temple? Why is there a statue of Shiva in front of the building? Are portals to other dimensions being opened? Even Elon Musk joked about the collider being demonic technology. So what’s the truth?

We’re joined by Dr. Robert (Putty) Putman, who earned a Ph.D. in theoretical quantum mechanics before becoming a pastor and leader in the church. With a unique combination of physics expertise and spiritual insight, Putty will help us better understand this organization and the science behind the the Large Hadron Collider.

Divine or Deceptive? How to Discern Spiritual Experiences

As believers, how can we evaluate spiritual experiences? How do we know if an experience is from the Lord, demonic, or simply our own flesh? We'll break down practical biblical principles for discernment to help believers distinguish the source of spiritual encounters and provide insight on how to navigate spiritual events with wisdom and faithfulness. We'll also explore Jonathan Edwards' marks of true revival, a foundational framework that can guide us in validating authentic movements of God.

Don't miss this insightful discussion on discerning spiritual experiences!
