Miraculous Documentaries: An Interview with Darren Wilson
Darren Wilson’s latest film The God Man is the final chapter in his 15 year, six film saga that includes Finger of God, Furious Love, Father of Lights, Holy Ghost and Holy Ghost Reborn. Darren stopped by The Remnant Radio to share stories from his film-making career as well as offer a look into his upcoming film and how it explores the manifestations of God's power in various corners of the world.
During his filmmaking journey, Darren’s relationship with Jesus underwent a profound transformation. Initially driven by skepticism, he embarked on a quest to explore the reality of miracles and divine encounters. As he delved deeper into his documentary series, his encounters with God's power in real-time shattered his preconceived notions and fears. The films, such as Finger of God, Father of Lights and The God Man, became a testament to his personal journey of faith. Through his encounters, he experienced the unrelenting love, compassion and power of Jesus, which dispelled his fears and ignited an unyielding trust in the Savior.
He recounts a story involving a dream shared by his colleague during their time in India. The dream depicted a future shoot in a cold place, where the colleague would be captured writing a song from start to finish. Fast forward seven years, and the dream becomes a reality during the filming of "The God Man" in Alaska. The filmmaker ponders the missed opportunity to document the dream in its initial stage, highlighting the significance of seizing such moments when they occur.
Darren also shared his approach to casting and divine guidance. He has traditionally gravitated toward recommendations from individuals he knows and trusts. Then, the process of selecting individuals to feature in the documentaries becomes an exercise in discernment and spiritual sensitivity. He discusses the impact of capturing the transformation of his own daughter, who plays a significant role in The God Man. Her personal journey from prodigal to a fervent believer adds a relatable and authentic touch to the film, resonating with viewers on a deeply human level.
For more than a decade, Darren has witnessed numerous encounters of miracles and divine guidance. Through his documentaries, he has sought to capture the extraordinary moments that occur when faith intersects with the supernatural.
